“The Bulgari villa alone made the trip. Every driver, every dinner, every spa slot was slotted before we landed. Zero decisions to make on holiday.”

The definitive luxury Bali, split across three coasts.
Bali is not one destination — it's three. Ubud is the cultural highland: rice terraces, temples, spa rituals and the island's best restaurants. Uluwatu is the clifftop south — dramatic pool villas hanging over the Indian Ocean, world-class surf breaks and the island's most romantic sunsets. Seminyak is the beach-town closer: designer boutiques, beach clubs and the shortest transfer to the airport. This six-night route gives each of those three Balis exactly the time it deserves.
The itinerary is perfect for couples on a milestone trip, honeymooners who want privacy without a resort-only holiday, and second-time Indian travellers who have done Bangkok/Phuket and want something more considered. It works beautifully as a slow-luxury week and as a soft cultural trip; it is not built for backpackers or party travellers — Kuta is deliberately absent.
The pace is calm. You will drive between regions on scenic routes with a private car and English-speaking driver on call throughout — no ride-hailing, no logistics. Mornings anchor on one experience (a rice-terrace walk, a temple visit, a spa ritual); afternoons are yours by the pool; evenings are booked around Bali's best restaurants. Expect two big travel days (Ubud → Uluwatu, Uluwatu → Seminyak) that are 90 minutes each and take you past temples, coffee plantations and cliff viewpoints.
The luxury level is genuinely five-star. You will stay in three properties Aman-graduates and Four-Seasons regulars book on repeat — Mandapa a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud, Bulgari Resort Bali in Uluwatu, and The Legian Seminyak on the beach. Each has a private-pool suite category and personal butler service. If you'd like to travel at a lower price band, the specialist can swap in Four Seasons Ubud, Six Senses Uluwatu and W Bali — same architecture, slightly lower rack rates.
Honeymooners: the ryokan-equivalent moment here is the Uluwatu clifftop villa. Bulgari's private-pool villas hang 150 metres above the ocean with a personal butler, a Balinese-blessing arrival ceremony and in-villa candlelit dinners on request. The specialist adds a couples' spa ritual at Sundara and a private catamaran sunset in Jimbaran.
For families, the route still works — Mandapa's family villas and The Legian's beach-front pool suite are both child-friendly. Waterbom Park in Kuta and the sacred monkey forest in Ubud are one-day add-ons. Vegetarian, Jain and no-onion-no-garlic diets are pre-briefed with every kitchen; Ubud is arguably the most vegetarian-friendly town in Asia, with plant-based cafés on every street.
Food is a real reason to book Bali. Locavore in Ubud, Merah Putih and Sarong in Seminyak, and Sundara in Jimbaran are all pre-booked at the reservation stage. Streetside nasi campur, freshly-pressed jamu tonics and morning coffee overlooking rice paddies are what most travellers remember. The specialist can add a private cooking class in a Ubud family home.
Culturally, Bali punches above its weight. You will visit Tirta Empul (a sacred water temple where locals bathe in holy springs), Uluwatu Temple at sunset for the Kecak fire dance, and — on request — a full-moon ceremony at a village temple. Shopping is unhurried: Ubud's art market, Seminyak's Petitenget lane of designer boutiques, and John Hardy for silver.
Seasonally, Bali has two clean windows: April to October is dry season and busiest; November to March is wet season with short afternoon showers that clear by evening. Peak dates are July, August, Christmas and Diwali — book six months out. May, June and September are the sweet spots: dry, cheaper, quieter.
Photographically, expect standout frames at Tegallalang rice terraces at 7 a.m., Handara Gate in Bedugul, Uluwatu at sunset, and the beach club infinity pools in Seminyak. Ask for the shot-list PDF if photography matters. Every element is customisable — add Nusa Penida for a day trip, swap Seminyak for Canggu, or extend to Nusa Dua for a beach-heavy close.

What our travellers are saying.
Real feedback from couples and families who travelled this exact package.
“We compared five agencies. Tour Monkey was the only one who quoted the exact villa category at Bulgari and got it. Everything after that was easy.”
“Traveling with two teens and vegetarian food is never easy. Every restaurant had a full veg menu ready when we arrived. Small things, done right.”
“Loved Mandapa's spa. The cooking class was a highlight — we still make the nasi campur at home.”
“The Kecak fire dance in Uluwatu was pure goosebumps. Book the front row.”
